Buenos noches
I haven't changed the time on my computer, so it is telling me it is only noon, but we already ate dinner and are getting ready for bed. It is still very early for bed here, but like Rachel said we are very jet lagged and tired. After our nap this afternoon we took a 25 minute walk to El Museo de Prado. On the way we stopped to eat dinner which was another interesting experience. We went to a place called museo del jamon and asked the woman behind the bar for a menu. we each got a ham sandwich and paid our 4 euros and were on our way. We finished the walk to the prado and went inside. Our host tipped us off that it is free for young people in the evenings. We just walked right in and saw some really amazing art. Some of my favorites were the 2nd and 3rd of May, and a very interesting painting by Valesquez. It showed him painting the painting we were looking at of a royal family. It made it look like they were looking at us instead of vice versa. After only an hour and a half we were getting tired again and decided that we would finish the museo tomorrow evening. We thought about having tapas and drinks, but decided to put that off too. Maybe later if we get a third wind or tomorrow. Our trip has been full of adventures already and I can't wait to experience the cities when I have more energy.

Why just free for young people?
Sounds like your adventure is off to a great start. Thanks for sharing the highlights. This morning there was an insistent 'bong bong' coming from your room. After an exhaustive search and pulling batteries out of a few devices I found Rachel's phone in a pink bag crying out a wake up alarm. Time to get up!!
Buenas noches Daniel y Rachel. I hope you are both well rested for a big day tomorrow.
Love to you both!
Landon- it was free to everyone, not just young people. I don't know why Daniel put that.
Robert- oops! I turned off my phone and I forgot that tech support made me set it so that it automatically turns off and back on at 3am every night. If you can figure out how to change that, feel free. Or turn my alarm off :-)
